Attack on research projects. In the night of 11 July, radical opponents of genetic engineering forcibly entered the Plant Science Garden Üplingen and destroyed parts of experimental plots. On these plots grow crops with new properties: potatoes, which provide the raw material for a biodegradable plastic (photo above) and wheat that is resistant to specific fungal diseases (photo below).
